Alan Jackson will be going to work for Habitat for Humanity and Ply Gem Industries as their Home for Good ambassador. The Boot shared the news that Jackson is showing his support for Habitat for Humanity which has been working to improve the lives of people since 1976 to make sure people have homes to call their own. Habitat for Humanity also provides services and programs for repairs and helps to create shelters across the country. Jackson will shine a light on their Home for Good Project which will be working to create over 300 new homes in the United States with Ply Gem Industries. Jackson’s song “You Can Always Come Home” will serve as the anthem for the project.
Ply Gem Industries is making a donation of over $1 million of funding and products that will be used to build the homes as the sponsor of the Habitat for Humanity project. Ply Gem Industries is a top manufacturer in North America for exterior building products and will be working on the Home for Good Project along with Habitat for Humanity on both the building of new homes and renovations of existing houses. Jackson will be spreading the word about the Home for Good Project as the ambassador and will also be taking part in the Nashville portion of the project when it takes place near the 2016 CMA Music Festival date.
Jackson discussed taking part in the Home for Good Project saying “I’m honored to partner with Ply Gem and Habitat for Humanity on their goal to build 300 homes.” Jackson added “Everyone deserves a place they can call home.”
Ply Gem Industries and Jackson want to make sure the Home for Good Project starts up in a big way so they are planning to reunite two families for the holidays with the “You Can Always Come Home” for the Holidays contest. The grand prize winners will receive airfare for two people to join their families for the holidays. Jackson’s song “You Can Always Come Home” is included on his latest album titled Angels and Alcohol which is made up of 10 tracks. Jackson took part in writing seven of the singles including “You Can Always Come Home.”
Jackson described the song that is being used for the Home for Good Project saying “When you’re a parent, if you have kids, no matter how old they are, you’re always going to take them in and take care of them, or whatever, so they always feel like they have a net.” Jackson added “And so, when my daughter Ali left to move to California, I wrote this song, and that’s kind of what it’s about, really.”
