Anthrax to perform on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers'

The five-year wait between albums prior to the release of For All Kings might have seemed agonizing for Anthrax fans, but the band has since made it well worth the wait -- and then some.

Released just this past February, For All Kings, the band's eleventh studio release, sold more than 34,000 copies in its first week in the United States alone. Peaking at #9 on the U.S. Billboard 200, the album also hit #8 on the Swiss Album charts, #5 in Germany, #4 in Finland, and dominated dozens of other music charts all around the planet. But the success of a great metal album isn't all that these thrash legends are celebrating in 2016 as it's also the 35th anniversary of this great band.

Over the past three and a half decades, Anthrax has more than made their mark on the music world. Having sold in excess of 10-million units, received multiple Gold and Platinum record sales certifications, and in addition to a whole slew of other awards and accolades earned six Grammy Award nominations Anthrax has continually been and still is a force to be reckoned with. They helped to break down racial and musical genre barriers in 1991 when the band collaborated with the hip hop group, Public Enemy, for the song "Bring The Noise," and Anthrax also made headlines by being one-fourth of The Big Four alongside fellow-thrashers Slayer, Megadeth, and Metallica. And then there were achievements that no one - not even the band members themselves - could have ever dreamed of, like being the first metal band whose music was played on the planet Mars -- yes, the planet Mars, and having been mentioned in one of Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' books as well.

And now with a larger-than-life, world-wide anniversary tour underway and continuing throughout 2016, the band has got another birthday festivity up their collective sleeves as well - an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 24, Anthrax will be making their "Late Night" debut and performing their new single, "Monster At The End."  Late Night with Seth Meyers airs on NBC at 12:35 a.m./11:35 p.m. CT, and there's sure to be many thrashers glued to their television sets that evening. And the single "Monster At The End" will hit radio on Aug. 16 and has already been added to stations like WJJO/Madison, KILO/Colorado Springs and WQLZ/Springfield.

Although currently in Europe, Anthrax will join their fellow Big Four compatriots Slayer for a major North American fall tour that kicks off Sept. 9.
