Proving that thrash metal isn’t solely defined by its decibels, Anthrax showed off their raw talent at an acoustic session for SiriusXM's Opie Radio. Rather than dialing down one of their own songs for the airwaves, the rockers bravely covered Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb.”
In the video, Vocalist Joey Belladonna gives an impassioned performance over the accompaniment of four synergistic acoustic guitars. Apparently pleased with their on-air performance, Anthrax reignited the cover at a Brooklyn charity gig on Friday (Sept. 17), where the band notably performed Aftershock for the first time in over a decade.
Check out the unlikely gem of a performance above. Anthrax is currently in the midst of a fall tour with Slayer and Death Angel, wrapping on Oct. 27 in Texas.
