It may be summer, but one country star is already counting down the days until Christmas. Rather than hitting a Nashville lake, Chris Young has been spending the sunny days of June in a (very festive) recording studio as he preps a 2016 holiday album.
A few days ago, Young teased the project with a short promo video of himself in the studio. We can hear the sounds of a pedal steel, but the exact melody is indecipherable.
I'm back in the studio and I’m doing what I love thanks to you guys...more details coming soon! pic.twitter.com/6jdHA1bb4n

On Thursday (June 30), Young took to Facebook Live to give fans the scoop; clad in a stylin’ "Dear Santa, I can explain" T-shirt, he introduced his first Christmas album, a project he called “10 years in the making.”
"This is something I've wanted to do for a really, really, really long time," he told fans in the video. "I'm so glad RCA is letting me do it. Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I have so many Christmas songs I wanna do, it was hard to narrow it down."
Young’s notable baritone should work nicely with whatever Christmas classics he lands on. He has once again teamed up with Corey Crowder, with whom he co-produced his most recent album I’m Comin’ Over. Per an in-studio photo, the crew (and the space) has fully embraced the Christmas spirit just in time for July's 100 degree weather.
