Rock on the Range will be invading the Columbus area for its ninth installment on May 15-17. ROTR is part of the World’s Loudest Month festival series and was recently named the 2014 RadioContraband Rock Event Of The Year. It has become a staple for central Ohio and is regarded as one of the most fun and high quality festivals in the country. Headliners for the event will be Slipknot, Judas Priest, and Linkin Park. It will be Slipknot’s first time back to MAPFRE Stadium since 2009 while this will be Judas Priest and Linkin Park’s debut performances at ROTR.
Tens of thousands of die hard rock fans make the pilgrimage from all over the world to attend Rock on the Range year after year. The schedule at Rock on the Range is always setup to provide the maximum fan experience with shows are staggered so that fans never have to miss main stage acts throughout the whole weekend. Monster Energy returns to Rock On The Range 2015 as the main stage sponsor and will be on site conducting fan giveaways, hosting Monster Energy artist signings, and sampling Monster Energy Drink.
Outside of the headliners, the festival offers a strong lineup across the genre of rock and metal. Crowd favorites and ROTR regulars Marilyn Manson, Godsmack, Papa Roach, Halestorm, and Slash will be making return visits to Columbus. This festival has also been a springboard into the US market to several acts in the past such as favorites and international stars Volbeat. This year there will be plenty of opportunity to catch the stars of tomorrow on the exterior Ernie Ball and Jagermeister stages.
The event, while bringing together the biggest stars of Rock, is more than about their great music. It’s an opportunity for local acts to make their mark and take home the top prize in a Battle of the Bands. This year, Bud Light will be sponsoring a comedy tent with major names Rob Schneider, Jim Norton, and major fan of the metal community Brian Posehn. It is also an opportunity for the thousands in attendance over the three days to experience the culture of Central Ohio.
