Vocalist Chris Young has quickly become an ambassador for country music. Following his win as Nashville Star back in 2006, the then 21-year-old artist was quickly signed to RCA Records and released his self-titled debut. It was an album peaked at #3 on the Billboard Country Charts and was fueled by the singles, “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” and “You’re Gonna Love Me”.
But it was Young’s follow-up album, 2009’s, The Man I Want To Be, that really cemented him as one of country music’s new young guns. Songs like the album’s title-track and “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song)” both reached #1 on the US Country chart and increased an already loyal fan following.
Young’s next two albums, Neon and A.M. also found similar success, with both reaching the top five of the mighty Billboard 200 album chart (#4 and #3 respectively).
In addition to his solo tours, Young has also performed alongside some of country music’s finest, including tours with George Strait, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean. Already nominated for a Grammy as well as winning a pair of ACM Awards and a CMT, Chris Young has accomplished more in just ten years than many artists do in an entire career.
Young’s latest single, “I'm Comin' Over” continues his wave of country dominance. The new song and video are a sneak peak at Young’s upcoming fifth studio album due out later this year. One that Young says includes a collaboration with country legend, Vince Gill as well as a duet with powerhouse vocalist, Cassadee Pope.
But Pennsylvania country fans won’t have to wait until then to see the return of this charismatic artist. This summer, Chris Young will bring his brand of country to The Mount Airy Casino in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, on Friday, July 17.
Young's appearance at Mount Airy Casino in The Poconos is part of this year's Sherman Theater Summer Stage. An outdoor summer concert series featuring artists of all musical genres performing at multiple venues across Northeast Pennsylvania.
Mount Airy Casino Resort in the Poconos is a short drive from both Philadelphia and New York City. With entertainment, golf and dining as well as 70 gaming tables and 1,800 slots, the resort offers one of Pennsylvania's most impressive nightlife experiences.
Chris Young will perform at Mount Airy Casino on Friday, July 17.
Showtime is 8 p.m.
