Entertainers announced to perform at 2015 RodeoHouston
RODEOHOUSTON

It may be piles of dirt center stage right now but the grounds are being prepared for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ concert lineup and the 21 artists set to perform there during the show starting March 3 to March 22. There were over 1.3 million who attended last year.

"The fact that we have 16 entertainers returning to the rotating stage is evidence that the RodeoHouston experience is not only in the stands, but on the stage as well," said Joel Cowley, president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. "The best of the best in entertainment, top flight rodeo athletes and great fans combine for an experience like no other."

Although there are many top country and those of other genre set to perform, there actually is a rodeo going on. There will be 360 top rodeo athletes there participating in Bareback Riding, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Chuck Wagon Race, Calf Scramble and Mutton Bustin'. If you are like me and never heard of the last event, it is for those between the ages of five and six years old and weigh 55 pounds or less. They will attempt to ride a "mutton" or sheep the longest. Of course they should be in full western gear. The World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest is February 26-28. The Carnival runs the same dates as the Rodeo and has all sorts of rides including La Grande Wheel which is the Western Hemisphere's largest portable Ferris wheel.

Tickets will go on sale Saturday, January 17 at 10 am through AXS Ticketing at the RodeoHouston website. The Virtual Waiting Room opens at 9 am on Saturday, but those who want tickets can register any time at the AXS RodeoHouston site. Rodeo ticket prices range from $18 to $21, plus applicable fees (a few performances may have a limited number of tickets available from $24 to $86).

All things lead to Luke Bryan as it should since he was Billboard's top country artist in 2014. As you may notice, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are not just not performing on the same day or even in the same week but there's a couple of weeks in between their performances. That should bring more fodder for their imminent divorce rumors. Two artists that are interesting to find on the schedule are Pitbull and Ariana Grande although he's scheduled for Friday the 13th and she is performing on St Patrick's Day. Perhaps these might be considered amongst the least favorite of the days.
