The City of Nashville is getting a brand new music venue, and country music singer Eric Church will be the first to perform in it. Today, it was revealed in a press release that Eric Church will be the first artist to perform at the new Ascend Amphitheater in Riverfront Park.
Eric Church's headlining concert at the Ascend Amphitheater will take place this summer on June 30. During this special concert Church will perform on stage solo with just his guitar. Tickets will go on sale beginning April 30 at 10 a.m. CT.
This outdoor amphitheater will have a capacity of 6,500 people. The music venue will be located on Riverfront Park, which is 10-acres. On those 10-acres of land there will also be a dog park, trails, gardens, and 1.5 acres of green lawn. On Aug. 2 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. local residents are welcome to visit the Ascend Amphitheater. There will be free tours, and live performances from local bands.
Eric Church was not the only artist announced to be performing at Ascend Amphitheater in 2015. This summer Phish will perform there on Aug. 4, Jill Scott will be there on Aug. 5, and Idina Menzel will perform there on Aug. 15.
In the fall of 2015 Widespread Panic will have two concerts at Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater. They will perform there on Sept. 5 & Sept. 6. Also performing there in the fall will be Lynyrd Skynyrd on Oct. 2, Chris Tomlin on Oct. 8, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals on Oct. 10.
