Eric Church is always raising the bar for what it means to be a true entertainer. As he continues to build on his massive success, one truth remains constant: fans come first. Last night (Aug. 9), Church invited fans at home backstage at his Red Rocks show via Facebook Live to offer a little entertainment and make a big announcement.

Church opened the chat with an impromptu performance of George Strait’s “Troubadour” before announcing a massive 2017 tour, kicking off on Jan. 13 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Holdin’ My Own Tour will hit 60+ cities before wrapping with a two night homecoming stretch at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in May. In a novel format, Church will forgo an opening act and instead perform two full sets of music with an intermission in between.

Always fan-focused, Church’s team has developed a special digital system to thwart scalpers and make sure tickets end up in the right hands. “In this era where growing inequality seems to be the norm, we wanted to do everything within our power to put the advantage back in the hands of true fans rather than those that take advantage of the system, and by extension our people,” Church’s manager John Peets said in a statement. “It was important to us to invest time into evaluating and redesigning the ticket buying process and build the technology to level the playing field.”

Church adds that they ultimately wanted to align their sales approach with his brand’s core values: “[We had] time to think through the way the fans experience our music live, and it was important to us that we find a way to stick to these same principles when it came to approaching our shows, down to the way they go on sale.”

Pre-sale tickets will be available for members of the Church Choir fan club on Sept. 9, starting at 11am CT and ending on Sept. 11 at 11:59pm CT. You can join or renew your membership here.
