St. Patrick’s Day in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio will be celebrated with parades and family-friendly spring events. Kids and adults will have lively fun observing the Irish-themed holiday in 2018.
2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cleveland

Cleveland’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the biggest and oldest of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the U.S. The parade’s 175th anniversary was celebrated in 2017. The 2018 parade will be themed “Prominent Irish Pioneers of the 20th Century.” Kids and adults will have fun at the festive Irish event, featuring marching bands, bagpipers, organizations, and colorful characters. The parade will draw about 200,000 spectators, so expect a crowd.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Akron

The Ancient Order of Hibernian will host the parade in downtown Akron. The parade will be on Main Street, between Cedar and Bowery St. Kids and adults will line Main Street to see the parade.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Merwin’s Wharf

The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be held at Merwin’s Wharf, on the Irishtown Bend of the Cuyahoga River. The day of fun will include live music and food specialties throughout the day.
St. Patrick’s Day Hike

Green is the color of choice for St. Patrick’s Day, so take the family for a hike to see where the green plants are starting to show in the woods. Hikers will explore the beauty of nature as they look at tree buds, search for early wildflowers, look for moss, and explore anything else that is green. The hike will be 2.5 miles long and it will be hilly.
Luck of the Irish Birding

Join Naturalist Matt as he guides a birding walk around Lake Isaac. The Luck of the Irish will certainly allow the hikers to see some marvelous species of birds. The free event is from children 10 years and under, accompanied by an adult.

Cleveland St. Patrick’s Day Run

The Cleveland St. Patrick’s Day Run will be a family-friendly run through the scenic streets of downtown Cleveland. If you just want to join in the fun the Kilt Run will be the race for you. Register by March 11 for Early Registration Pricing.
Breakfast with the Bunny

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will be a kid-friendly event at the Akron Zoo. The morning of fun will include a breakfast buffet, a visit with the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, crafts, and other activities. Bring a camera to take pictures with the bunny. You should also bring a basket or bag to collect the eggs. All activities will be indoors except for the egg hunt. Tickets for zoo members will be $16/Adult and $23/Child. Tickets for non-members will be $24/Adult and $29/Child. The ticket prices will include zoo admission, so you can visit the zoo animals after Breakfast with the Bunny.
