Granger Smith, who has enjoyed a remarkable career thus far as an independent artist and grown a passionate fan base, has just signed a a deal with BBR Music Group, whose roster includes Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant, Jackie Lee and Kristy Lee Cook (among others). His most recent project (co-produced by Frank Rogers), the cool and fun 4x4 EP, has assisted in establishing the singer's wider commercial appeal and potential. "I've held off for years in partnering with a record label because of my obsessive passion for writing, creating & releasing music my own way,” Smith says, in a statement released on Wednesday (August 12). “Because of my dedication to touring, fans have come to want and expect my music to be delivered in a very personal way, and my commitment to that won't change. In BBR Music Group, we've realized a like-minded passion and a simple obligation: don't change the foundation of what I've built, but simply magnify the message. It goes without saying that BBR has the firepower and for that, I'm extremely excited.”

BBR Music Group's Executive VP Jon Loba discusses the importance of an artist to find that niche to breakthrough. In this case, it's Smith's hilarious and well-received alter ego, Earl Dibbles Jr. (who is featured on his latest track "City Boy Stuck"). “I tell unsigned acts looking for deals all the time to create demand – prove to labels you can connect with an audience,” Loba shares. “Granger is the epitome of doing just that and is doing it nationally - not just regionally. His touring and merch business is already out-performing many signed acts with multiple hits. We are so excited to add Granger to the BBR Music Group family and look forward to amplifying the rabid demand he has created for himself and his alter ego Earl Dibbles Jr.”

Smith's current single "Backroad Song" is currently being worked at mainstream terrestrial radio. Rogers will return as collaborator for the singer's forthcoming BBR debut full player. Details are still being ironed out. This fall, however, fans can expect to get a first taste of all-new music when Smith wraps up his nationwide tour. Check out the list of dates below. 4x4 follows a string of releases, including 1999's Waiting on Forever, 2005's Pocket of Pesos and 2013's Dirt Road Driveway. Needless to say, this label signing is a long time coming. The stage is set; now, all there is to do, is wait a little bit more.
