The voice of Maria Brink alone brings back the fans of In This Moment known as the Blood Legion. The Wellmont Theater was privileged enough to welcome her band on April 18th with a venue packed with dedicated patrons.
In This Moment have recently released their latest album Black Widow under their also recently signed deal with Atlantic Records which shortly followed an international tour and now have returned to the U.S. to follow up on it’s domestic portion of the tour.
With being back on U.S. soil, Monster Energy Drink has sponsored a wrapped bus of their current tour flyer promotional image and the band is encouraging fans to pose in front of and with the bus and hash tagging on social media #becometheshow and #blackwidowtour for fans to be able to become interactive with the band. And sometimes, fans might luck out and see members of the band joining in for a photo.
Their live show is nothing short of a spectacular set up and performance by all the members with the beautiful and constantly changing stage design to go along with the songs to be performed. Including some of the singles from the new album, like the video, there is a podium for “Sex Metal Barbie” and an elastic cage for “Big Baf Wolf.” You can watch the videos on YouTube by clicking on their titles.
Additional popular performances included “Whore” where she is famously dressed in a school uniform and wearing a dunce cap with the “WHORE” written on it. She gives away the cap to a fan at the end of the performance. Before she starts performing the song, she gives a quick speech about the song. As quoted from Blabbermouth.net, "The message behind this song is taking back control. It is about taking the power from a disgusting and degrading word and turning it back around on the accuser. It's about self-empowerment, love, and liberation.”
Finally, she closes the set with an encore performing “Blood” which is their most notable hit. Before the song went on, as fans were witnessed to the lights going dim and the band going off stage, the fans started chanting “BLOOD, BLOOD” repeatedly until the band returned to the stage to perform the song. The crowd literally screamed and instantly started singing along with Brink.
In this Moment have recently begun their U.S. tour and have a few festival dates scheduled along the way. Tour dates are listed below and additional dates and information are available on their website and Facebook page.
Having joined them on the tour is Butcher Babies who are on direct support and will be releasing a new album this fall, Upon A Burning Body who have come off the 2014 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and recently did a new video featuring Ice T called “Turn Down for What” (you can watch the video here).
