Eric Church is taking his pain to propel him forward with his new single "Record Year." Lifted from his surprise album Mr. Misunderstood, which dropped immediately following the 2015 CMA Awards, the song was written with Jeff Hyde and sees the outlaw turning to music (his "three-foot stack of vinyl") to comfort him. "Since you turned the tables on me, I've been steady and learnin' lonely, keepin' this turntable spinnin,'" he details on the first verse. He might feel pangs of heartache, but he's not particularly shaken up.

"Record Year" follows the album's first single and title track on the radio charts.
While Church will be making the rounds overseas with concert dates in Germany, Norway, Ireland and elsewhere, he heads back to the states in March to continue touring throughout the summer. He is also expected to make several fair and festival appearances in the coming months. He is set to headline the Watershed Festival in July and August, alongside Keith Urban and Jason Aldean (and countless others), the Faster Horses Festival, WE Fest and Country Thunder USA.
