Like most major cities in the United States, Detroit has a lot going on for Mardi Gras this year. Detroit Rock City has more than just their famous rock shows on tap as they also welcome EDM, trap, and folk bands playing through the week as well. With so much to choose from, here is a look at the best Mardi Gras shows and concerts in Detroit for 2017.

The Palace of Auburn Hills - 6 Championship Drive, Auburn Hills, MI 48326

Country music superstar Eric Church is bringing his Holdin’ My Own tour to Detroit for a special concert that kicks off Mardi Gras week. The concert takes place at the Palace of Auburn Hills, and while there is no opening act, Church will play two full sets by himself for this concert. Tickets for the Eric Church Detroit concert before Mardi Gras are available through AXS. Prices start out at $31 and go up to $89.

Royal Oak Music Theatre - 318 West 4th Street, Royal Oak, MI 48067

AEG Live and React are hosting a big Mardi Gras week concert in Detroit with Tchami at the Royal Oaks Music Theatre. This is a huge EDM concert featuring the Paris-born house music producer. Known best as the pioneer of the Future House genre, Tchami will put on a huge show in Detroit with special guest Mercer. Tickets for this big Mardi Gras Detroit concert are on sale through AXS, with prices starting at 20.

The Head and the Heart

Hill Auditorium - 825 North University Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48109

For Detroit music fans wanting a concert on Mardi Gras day itself, The Head and the Heart will play at the Hill Auditorium. This indie folk band is touring in support of their third album Signs of Light after taking a short hiatus. Fans might recognize the hit single “All We Ever Knew,” which was a number-one single on the U.S. alternative music charts. Tickets for this Mardi Gras Detroit concert are on sale at AXS for between $30 and $40.

Classic rock fans know Steve Hackett as the former guitarist for the prog rock band Genesis, playing alongside Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel. Hackett really excelled on his own, releasing 23 studio albums in the rock, blues, and classical genres. He is now out touring in support of his upcoming new album The Night Siren and his new tour is the Genesis Revisited with Classic Hackett Tour. Tickets for the concert are on sale through AXS for between $39.50 and $75.

To close out Mardi Gras in Detroit, TroyBoi will bring his act to the Majestic Theatre on March 3. TroyBoi is a London based trap musician and is one of the top young acts in the game today. He is hitting Detroit as part of his The Mantra tour and AXS has tickets on sale for this big show.
