With Rock on the Range celebrating 10 years this 2016 festival season, the event has solidified its place as an epic gathering of big-name rock star musicians and 120,000 of their most loyal fans. Now in its fourth straight sold out year, the event is held annually at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio and runs from Friday, May 20th to Sunday May 22nd.
With Red Hot Chili Peppers, Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, and Bring Me The Horizon scheduled for later in the weekend, Friday's notable performers and personalities included Sevendust, Miss May I, comedian Don Jameson, Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach (who joined headliner Disturbed for a special cover of the Rage Against the Machine classic "Killing in the Name"), Bullet for My Valentine, Butcher Babies and Sixx:A.M., as well as radio personality Shannon Lee from Sirius XM. Check out behind-the-scenes photos of all of them in the photo gallery above.
For this photographer, other notable moments during the first day of the event included several fans crowd surfing in costumes, a fan meet-and-greet and foosball contest with Disturbed, checking out behind the scenes at the artist lounge and simply just watching bands and their managers manage their day-to-day tasks throughout the arena.
