The electricity in the air intensified as the CMA Music Festival announces new feature performers for the festival’s opening night on Friday, June 10, 2016. Country music superstars, Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, and Hank Williams, Jr. will perform at CMA’s Friday Nightly Concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Previously announced performers Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts and Dierks Bentley will also perform for the Festival’s opening night.

Celebrating 45 years in 2016, the CMA Festival began as Fan Fair® in 1972. The 2016 CMA Music Festival runs Thursday through Sunday, June 9-12 in downtown Nashville. (Artists and schedules are subject to change.) The pinnacle performances for fans are the CMA Festivals Nightly Concerts at Nissan Stadium. Each Wednesday for the rest of March Friday, Saturday, and Sunday lineups will follow each week respectively. Organized and produced by the Country Music Association Artists.

Unfortunately, and as it is for this year’s sold out performances, the stadium seats usually sell out long before talent is announced. However, even though tickets to 2016 CMA Music Festival are sold out, there is so much more to enjoy than just the Nightly Concerts at Nissan Stadium.

If you missed tickets to the stadium’s Nightly Concerts, fear not. Through Fan Fair X in the Music City Center, you can still enjoy continuous music from numerous free stages and unique fan experiences all over downtown Nashville. Tickets to Fan Fair X are available now at CMAfest.com (Fan Fair X admission is included in four-day CMA Music Festival tickets).

The fan/artist interaction Fan Fair X is in the Music City Center. CMA Music Festival offers 353,000 square feet of artist booths, shopping, exhibits, and three stages numerous free stages featuring diverse lineups throughout downtown Nashville. The most anticipated Fan Fair X experience is the CMA Close Up Stage featuring the “Artist of the Day” and intimate and interactive programming with top artists. Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer says, “The personal connection between the artists and their fans is what sets this format apart, and defines this Festival.” Continuing, Trahern said, “We have taken that relationship and amped it up in Fan Fair X this year with autograph signings, Q&A sessions, performances, a marketplace, lifestyle vendors, and more.”

This CMA Close Up Stage has grown in 2016 to host 1,000 fans for star-packed performances, panels, presentations, and more. The epicenter for fan/artist interaction where artists will sign autographs and meet fans will be at the CMA Artist Experience booth. The artist meet-and-greets are a highlight of the Ultimate Country Music Fan Experience, as well as opportunities for prizes, special VIP exclusives, and once in a lifetime fan experiences through a special drawing.

For the 13th consecutive year, the CMA Festival is filmed to air on the ABC Television Network, a feat no other music festival has achieved. Executive producer Robert Deaton will present “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.”

CMA will announce the lineup for a different Nightly Concert at Nissan Stadium each Wednesday in March 2016.
