“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” isn’t usually the venue that is associated with honky-tonk country ballads about drinking whiskey, the show more interested in booking flavor-of-the-month internet buzz acts. But on last night’s episode, Fallon brought out country legend Alan Jackson and his band to debut the title track off the singer’s upcoming album Angels and Alcohol.
The performance was a nice change of pace for the show, as Jackson ambled through the toe-tapper with his rich voice, the arrangement littered with a sighing steel guitar and Jackson’s moving, rich voice. Watch the performance below.
Angels and Alcohol is set to be released on July 17 and is Jackson’s 20th studio album. It's Jackson's first country LP in two years.
Jackson’s appearance on “Fallon” isn’t his last stop on television; the singer will perform again on NBC’s “The Today Show” on July 17.
After his “Today Show” performance, Jackson will resume his tour. Check out all of his upcoming live dates at his official website.
