Charly Bliss plan June tour

The adorable pop-rock group known as Charly Bliss have announced dates for an east coast tour coming up in June, which will take them through northeastern cities such as New Haven, Pittsburgh, Washington and more. If you won't have time to see them at one of the June shows, Charly Bliss will take the stage again Sep. 28, back home in Brooklyn at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, for which tickets go on sale May 19.

The New York natives, who have been compared to both Weezer and Veruca Salt, are still riding the wave of their debut album Guppy. Despite only just releasing an album, the band has actually been together for over half a decade, giving them time to bust their chops honing the perfect live act. During that timeframe, they recorded and subsequently scrapped an entire album, once they realized it did not appropriately portray their musical stylings. In the end, Charly Bliss' goal became to be the happy pop band they had constantly been working towards, instead of the garage rock niche they had been shoved into. It was that move which defined the Charly Bliss you will hear today: the distortion and guitars of indie garage rock, with the catchy melodies and infectious choruses of top 40 pop.
