The National coming to Red Rocks with Sharon Van Etten

Indie rock torchbearers The National are coming to Red Rocks in 2018.

On Monday, the Cincinnati band announced a special show at Colorado's legendary outdoor amphitheater with opener Sharon Van Etten. The show will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 9; pre-sale tickets will be available to fan club members on April 17, with the general on sale beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 19. The National will spend much of 2018 on the road in support of their latest album, Sleep Well Beast, which won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album earlier this year. Last week, the band announced a special two-day festival at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City that will also feature Jason Isbell, Future Islands and others. Sharon Van Etten may be releasing a new album ahead of the show; her last studio album was 2014's Are we There. In 2016, Van Etten appeared on The National's Grateful Dead tribute album Day of the Dead alongside Perfume Genius.
