Trips down the Hollywood Walk of Fame mostly result in strolling around, head bowed while repeating the mantra of “I don’t know that person. I don’t know that person. I don’t know that person. Nah never heard of ‘em.” But the days of inducting talkie stars to the Walk are now over and finally, names cherished by young folk and millennials are beginning to make their way to Hollywood and Vine.
Yesterday, the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce announced the 2017 Walk of Fame class that included names like Jason Bateman, Chris Pratt, Sarah Silverman, Wolfgang Puck and, uh Brett Ratner. Those awarded in the category of recording included Hall & Oates, Ice Cube, *NSYNC, and New Edition. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also gave posthumous awards to Selena Quintanilla and composer Jerry Goldsmith.
“The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world,” said Walk of Famer Vin di Bona. “As a Walk of Famer myself, I know these honorees will look back at the day of their ceremony and remember it with fond memories shared with family and friends, and of course, the fans.”
