New York is one of the most vibrant and active cities in North America. When it comes to holidays, NYC goes all out as well and when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, things are no different. This year, there are some pretty big music acts playing in New York for the holiday. From Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members to some great alternative acts, there is something for everyone this year. Southern Soul Assembly

The City Winery is having a huge St. Patrick’s Day party with their Southern Soul Assembly. This is advertised as an artist-in-the-round performance and has a huge number of great bands playing the third year of the special event. Included in the show are JJ Grey, Luther Dickinson, Anders Osborne, and Marc Broussard. Tickets for the show start at $45 and fans can pick them up here when they become available.

The Stress Factory Comedy Club is offering a huge St. Patrick’s Day show with comedian and television actress Whitney Cummings as the lead act. Cummings made her name on Comedy Central with standup specials before getting her own TV show “Whitney.” Her most recent standup television show “I’m Your Girlfriend” debuted in January and she will now bring her act to New York City. Mike Love, not to be confused with the Beach Boys lead singer, is a reggae star who is really starting to come into his own. The Hawaiian musician received big critical acclaim for his debut album The Change I’m Seeking and he has played alongside some of the biggest names in indie music. He will play at The Saint on St. Patrick’s Day and tickets are available to purchase here for $15.

Johnny Rivers is a rock legend, starting his career in the ‘50s and still traveling the world and playing his music to this very day. At the age of 74, he still puts on a great rock show playing hits like “Secret Agent Man,” “The Seventh Son,” and more. Johnny Rivers will be playing a concert on St. Patrick’s Day in New York at the NYCB Theatre. Tickets are on sale now here starting at $39.50.
After the Burial

Progressive metal band After the Burial is touring in support of their fifth album Dig Deep, which they released in 2016. The band will play at the GameChangerWorld Event Center on St. Patrick’s Day along with metalcore bands Fit for a King, Emmure, and Invent Animate.
