Grammy-nominated R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Trey Songz will bring Tremaine The Tour to New York’s PlayStation Theater on Friday, May 19. Also on the bill, which is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m., is Mike Angel, Trey Songz frequent collaborator.
Tremaine Aldon Neverson, better known by his stage name Trey Songz, dropped his seventh studio long-player, Tremaine the Album, back in March via the Troy Taylor’s Songbook imprint, under distribution from Atlantic Records. Anchored by lead single “Nobody Else But You,” The 15-track collection reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
The 32-year-old recording artist will celebrate the five year anniversary of his fifth studio album, Chapter V, this summer. The album, released in August 2012 by Atlantic Records, debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In addition to the Grammy nominated hit “Heart Attack,” Chapter V is supported by the singles “2 Reasons,” “Simply Amazing,” and “Never Again.”
This fall will mark the 10th anniversary of Songz’ sophomore LP, Trey Day. The album, released in October 2007 through Atlantic Records, peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and featured four singles: “Wonder Woman,” “Can’t Help but Wait,” “Last Time,” and “Missin’ You.”
The vocalist scored his highest charting hit to date in 2010 with the song “Bottoms Up,” which features rapper Nicki Minaj, from his fourth full-length, Passion, Pain & Pleasure. He is also known in the mainstream for the single “Say Aah,” from 2009’s Ready.
