On A Saturday (OAS) may be one of the most serious cover bands around. No detail is too small for the Japanese band, named after Radiohead’s college-years edition, imitating the guys down to their haircuts, mannerisms and even the stickers on the gear. The band has recorded live studio versions of Radiohead songs and also perform live.
OAS have a big week ahead of them with Radiohead landing in Japan for two festivals, in Osaka (Aug. 20) and Tokyo (Aug. 21), respectively. To celebrate their heroes’ impending arrival, OAS staged a tribute show in Tokyo last week and it looks like their hard and meticulous labor didn’t go unnoticed.
Earlier today (Aug. 12), OAS met Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood at a screening of the Paul Thomas Anderson film "Junun," which Greenwood scored. Check out the photo of Greenwood and his Japanese doppelganger above.
Next month, Radiohead will appear at Lollapalooza Berlin and Austin City Limits before hitting Mexico City for a pair of October shows. Check out a complete list of tour dates here.
