Watch: Danny Brown and Jonah Hill team up on parodical new video for 'Ain't It Funny'

Detroit MC Danny Brown was called “one of rap's most unique figures in recent memory” by MTV, and his new video for the track “Ain’t It Funny” certainly echoes that sentiment. The video, directed by Jonah Hill, uses a parody of the stereotypical family sit-com as a platform for social commentary. Brown stars as the 40 oz. toting, drug addled “Uncle Danny.” But instead of the audience being alarmed by Uncle Danny’s illness, they just laugh manically. The video is expert parody that genuinely tackles an important issue in today’s society. You can check it out above.

“Ain’t It Funny” is featured on Danny Brown’s critically acclaimed album, Atrocity Exhibition, released in September of 2016. His fourth studio album, Atrocity Exhibition features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Earl Sweatshirt, B-Real, Kelea and Petite Noir. Brown recently guested on the Gorillaz new album Humanz and helped Damon Albarn and company debut the new record live in London. You can check out clips from the show here.

Danny Brown is slated to perform at Project Pabst in Denver on May 20 alongside Ice Cube, Phantogram, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Twin Peaks and more. Click here to find Project Pabst Denver tickets on AXS.
