Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran recently took fans behind-the-scenes of the globetrotting music video for “End Game,” their latest collaboration on Swift’s chart-topping sixth studio album, reputation, which also features Future. In it, Swift pokes fun at her British native friend who is sitting on the arm of the couch, while she sits next to him on the cushion.
“This is what he does,” she says, “He tries to elevate himself, just like geographically, so he can seem better than me.” Sheeran pipes in with “taller” just as she says “better.” She continues, noting experts will study the clip and say he’s “peacocking.” He quickly defends himself by pointing out how often she wears heels and she proudly lifts a leg to show off her high-top sneakers.
When Swift asks Sheeran if he remembers listening to the track and writing his part the next day, he says yes, and explains how he wrote it in a hotel in New York after waking up because he’d “dreamed it” in his head. Swift quickly teases, “So it’s not talent, it accidentally happened to you.” He replies, “It’s just dreams yeah.”
In his featured rap on the track, Sheeran talks about reconnecting with his high school crush-turned-current fiancée, Cherry Seaborn, at Swift’s Fourth of July party at her home in Rhode Island. The lyric states, “After the storm/something was born on the Fourth of July.” The “Shape of You” singer points out “Born on the Fourth of July” is the name of a Tom Cruise movie. Swift is surprised and says, "What?" Swift happily gushes about her role in helping the couple kick off their relationship, which Sheeran announced evolved into an engagement “just before new year" on Instagram. (See his post below).
The fun behind-the-scenes footage also finds Swift and Sheeran together at a club and a party. The "...Ready For It?" singer is also seen hanging out with Future in the clip. “End Game” is the third official single from reputation. The “Gorgeous” singer scored her 55th Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the track. It also reached No. 10 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart.
