Since 2003, the English rock band The Darkness have impressed fans with their true talent and catchy songs—everyone knows the lyrics to "I Believe In A Thing Called Love." Frontman Justin Hawkins has a over-the-top personality, and his bandmates, Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain and the newest member, Rufus Tiger Taylor perfectly compliment his antics.
The band hadn't released an album since 2015, and just in early October, they released their fifth studio album Pinewood Smile, and also announced a massive North American tour.
"It's more like when you're hysterical, and you really want someone to come and slap you," said Hawkins of the album. "It's for your own good."
AXS sat down with The Darkness right before the release of Pinewood Smile, and learned all about the meaning of their new songs, their upcoming documentary and what the best part is about touring. Watch the full interview above.
