Todd Rundgren fans can check out a newly released official video for the track 'Chance for Us,” which features Daryl Hall and sax player Bobby Strickland. The song is from the multi-platinum seller's star-studded studio album White Knight, which dropped May 12 via Cleopatra Records.
The “Hello It's Me” hitmaker premiered the song on May 22 via Billboard and posted the video at his record label's official YouTube channel. The Utopia star unveiled the video while wrapping up the final dates on his spring U.S. solo tour, which launched April 29 in St. Louis in support of the his 27th studio album.
The 4:14 video opens in setting that will look familiar to fans of Hall's popular online series “Live from Daryl's House.” Following a synth-guitar intro, the song falls into a funky retro-70's R&B groove with the Hall & Oats star handling lead vocals duties on the first verse, singing, “Too much water/Under a broken bridge/Evil words/I couldn't heed.”
Rundgren handles lead vocal duties on the middle-eight leading up to the chorus on which Hall resumes lead vocals as Rundgren and the harmony singers supply call-back “chance for us” backing vocals. Fans can check out the video above.
Rundgren's White Knight: The Chivalrock Tour will continue May 22 in Jacksonville, Florida, at the Florida Theatre and wraps up June 10 in Syracuse, New York, at Onondaga Community College Campus. Following his spring solo romp, Rundgren will team with pioneering British prog-rockers Yes and Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy for a 20-city run dubbed “Yestival.” The summer trek kicks off Aug. 4 in Greensboro, North Carolina, at White Oak Amphitheatre At Greensboro Coliseum Complex.
