Here are 10 reasons to check out this year's show, from philanthropy to some impressive concerts--with tickets on sale right here on AXS.

Livestock and horse show
It is called the Livestock Show and Rodeo, after all, so naturally, that's a huge part of the event. In fact, it's the world's largest livestock show, with over 30,000 entries with competitors from all over Texas, as well as some international ones.

Again, it's part of the name. In addition to the rodeo, the show also features a shootout competition. Over $2 million in prizes will be awarded to the winners, and attendees can stop by the Fan Zone to meet their favorite cowboy or cowgirl. Can't make it? Shows will be livestreamed every night, and select events will be broadcast live on TV through FOX Sports Southwest.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has plenty to do for the whole family, including kids. Attendees can enjoy the carnival, and kids can have fun at The Junction, formerly called Kids Country, with rides, games, a petting zoo, pig races, pony rides and more.

Shopping and dining
The Livestock Show and Rodeo is a huge event, and that means plenty of vendors, no matter what you're looking for, at the Lone Star Market. Foodies can take on the Gold Buckle challenge to try all eight of the show's award-winning dishes.

Hit the dance floor at The Hideout, the rodeo's honky tonk from 6 p.m. until midnight, included in the price of admission. Enjoy drinks at the bar and live music, with a lineup to be announced.

Good cause
The Houston Livestock Show also works to benefit the community and has raised over $475 million and awarded over 19,000 in its 80-plus years to benefit Texas youth. More than 800 scholarships are awarded each year, and the show also awards educational grants.

Special events
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo offers different special events throughout its run, honoring certain demographics, from the armed forces to first responders and more. The show will also feature international days and events and activities for individuals with special needs.

Naturally, the Lone Star State is front and center, from the vendors to competitors to the entertainment. Texas musicians will be showcased every night, and local vendors can be found at the Lone Star Market.

Live entertainment
Between the livestock show, competitions, and concerts, the show has plenty to do and see--but you'll find other live entertainment, too. Local musicians will be showcased on the Stars Over Texas stage, and you can catch tribute bands every week on Throwback Thursday.

The lineup
But maybe the best reason to check out the 2019 show is its lineup. The show has boasted some huge names in music in the past, particularly in country, and this year is no different. This year's lineup boasts Kacey Musgraves, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Turnpike Troubadours, Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band, Chris Stapleton, Brad Paisley and more, and country icon George Strait will close out the show on its final night. But other huge names in music will also perform, such as Cardi B, Panic! At the Disco, Camila Cabello, Zedd, Kings of Leon and Santana. Performances start following the last rodeo of the day. Tickets for select concerts are on sale now right here on AXS.
