11th ACM Honors

ACM Country

As an extension of the 52nd annual ACM Awards, the upcoming ACM Honors ceremony celebrates special awards recipients with an evening of music and tributes. The Academy of Country Music revealed on Thursday morning (March 23) the date for the 11th ceremony as Aug. 23. The televised event will once again take place at the Ryman Auditorium for the eighth year running.

Peter Fisher, formerly the general manager of the Grand Ole Opry, recently took over CEO duties for the ACM. He tells Music Row of this year's Honors, “We decided to create greater separation between our [ACM] awards in Las Vegas and the ACM Honors, really as a way to lift up ACM Honors to an even higher profile. So, instead of announcing prior to the ACMs, we thought these winners deserved to have their own moment, versus kind of getting lost in all of the activity surrounding Las Vegas.”

This year's Special Awards, Industry Awards and Studio Recording Awards honorees have yet to be revealed.

Performers will be announced in the coming months.

The 52nd ACM Awards go live April 2 on CBS at 8/7c. Major nominees include Keith UrbanKelsea BalleriniMiranda LambertCarrie UnderwoodMaren MorrisFlorida Georgia LineChris Stapleton and more.
