The Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL will have an Atlanta Pro Sports Night on March 24 when they host the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at the Infinite Energy Arena. Fans will have the opportunity to meet various players and mascots of the other professional sports teams in Atlanta and spectators are encouraged to wear gear associated with the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball, the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association, the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League, the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, the Atlanta United FC of Major League Soccer, the Atlanta Blaze of Major League Lacrosse or the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association.
This is an exciting time to be a fan of the Georgia Swarm. They are currently in third place in the NLL Eastern Division with a record of eight wins and four losses. They are in a tight battle for first place in the division with the Toronto Rock and Buffalo Bandits.
The Gladiators meanwhile have an ECHL record of 24 wins, 23 regulation losses, seven overtime losses and one shootout loss for 56 points. The Swamp Rabbits are in seventh place in the South Division with a record of 21 wins, 34 regulation losses, three overtime losses and two shootout losses for 47 points.
Atlanta's leading scorer this season is Derek Nesbitt, who has 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points. Greenville's leading scorer is Michael Pelech, who has 15 goals and 39 assists for 54 points.
In Gladiators transaction news, right winger Zach Magwood was promoted to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League by the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League on March 2. Magwood has two assists in five games with the Gladiators and four goals and five assists for nine points in 39 games with the Milwaukee Admirals this season.
