2018-19 Atlanta Gladiators special event: Feb. 8 is Flashback Friday
Atlanta Gladiators

The Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL will have Flashback Friday on Feb. 8 when they host the South Carolina Stingrays at the Infinite Energy Arena. In addition to recognizing past decades, the Gladiators will have a pajama toss.

In Flashback Friday, the Gladiators will recognize the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's. There will be clips from popular television shows in each decade, in-game contests and trivia. There will also be music from each decade that fans will be encouraged to dance to.

In the pajama toss, fans are encouraged to throw pajamas on to the ice when the Gladiators score their first goal. In order to keep the pajamas clean, fans are asked to put the pajamas in a large ziplock bag. The Gladiators will then donate the pajamas to the company Jambos, which provides pajamas to children who are placed in foster homes.

The Gladiators have a record of 13 wins, 19 regulation losses, five overtime losses and one shootout loss for 32 points. The Stingrays have a record of 22 wins, 17 regulation losses and two overtime losses for 46 points. The Gladiators leading scorer is Derek Nesbitt, who has 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points. The Stingrays leading scorer is Andrew Cherniwchan, who has 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points.

This is an exciting time to watch the Gladiators because they have won five straight games. The Gladiators have beaten the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Jacksonville Icemen twice each and the Stingrays once since Jan. 11. In the five wins, the Gladiators have outscored their opponents 16-7.
