The Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League will have a country music night and will be giving away Drew Doughty cowboy bobblehead dolls when they host the Winnipeg Jets at the Staples Center on March 18 (Tickets).
Doughty represented the Kings at the 2019 NHL All-Star Game in San Jose this season. It was the fifth straight all-star game he has represented the Kings. This season, Doughty has played in 64 games and has five goals and 29 assists for 34 points. He is a -27 with 30 penalty minutes, 19 power play points, one shorthanded point, 123 shots on goal, 87 blocked shots, 135 hits, 17 takeaways and 86 giveaways.
A two-time first-team NHL All-Star, Doughty won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's top defenseman in 2016. One of the greatest Kings defensemen of all-time, Doughty has been with the Kings since 2008. On the international stage, Doughty won the gold medal for Canada in men's hockey at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
The Winnipeg Jets are Stanley Cup contenders this season. At 78 points, they are second in the Central Division with a record of 37 wins, 22 regulation losses and four losses in extra time. The Kings meanwhile have 54 points with a record of 23 wins, 33 regulation losses and eight losses in extra time. Winnipeg's leading scorer is Blake Wheeler, who has 12 goals and 61 assists for 73 points. Los Angeles's leading scorer is Anze Kopitar, who has 19 goals and 28 assists for 47 points.
