The Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League will have a special "Salute to Service Night" when they host the Calgary Flames at the Staples Center on Nov. 10. Members of the armed forces will be honored throughout the evening.

The Flames are currently tied for first place in the Pacific Division with the San Jose Sharks. This past week, the Flames have won two very difficult road games as they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 at the Scotiabank Arena on Monday, and then defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 on an overtime goal by Johnny Gaudreau at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo on Tuesday. Gaudreau meanwhile has had an excellent start to the season as he has 16 points in 13 games.

The Kings are coming off a big 4-3 win over the New York Rangers at Staples Center this past Sunday. Ilya Kovalchuk led the Kings in scoring with one goal and two assists for three points. Kovalchuk and Drew Doughty lead the Kings in scoring with eight points. Kovalchuk has three goals and five assists and Doughty has one goal and seven assists.

In Los Angeles Kings news, Dustin Brown has been reactivated by the Kings off of the injury reserve. He made his regular season debut against the Rangers after breaking his finger in a preseason game against the Anaheim Ducks. Brown got on the scoresheet as he scored at 11:23 of the second period from Kovalchuk and Doughty.
