The dates and tickets for the 2019 Amgen Tour of California cycling race have been announced, created and presented by AEG—parent company of AXS. In the style of the Tour de France, the Amgen Tour will take world-class cyclists along hundreds of miles in California. The event has taken place since 2006.
The race kicks off on May 12 in Sacramento and crosses the finish line on May 18 in Pasadena. The men will ride through Rancho Cordova and South Lake Tahoe before handing the race off to the women in Ventura on May 16. Tickets for the scenic events go on sale on Dec. 10 at 10:00 a.m. American Express cardmembers will be able to enjoy a pre-sale on Dec. 5.
However, superfans of cycling can put a $100 deposit down on VIP packages by filling out this form. Those who purchase the VIP Hospitality package gives special access to food and drinks, premium viewing of the race as well as race coverage.
Last year, Colombia's Egan Bernal won the event and California's own Katie Hall won the women's Amgen Tour of California. In 2016, Julian Alaphilippe of France became the youngest champ in the history of the event thus far.
