The Overwatch League will return in just over a month, and many teams are looking to make their comeback for the upcoming season. With redemption on the table, the Shanghai Dragons, the inaugural season's only winless team, underwent major renovations to their player lineup in anticipation for the upcoming season, releasing the majority of their Season 1 roster and signing on six new members for Season 2.

The team’s newest additions will join the Dragons for their first year in the Overwatch League after having competed in the development series, the Overwatch Contenders. Four of the six new members, including Jin "YOUNGJIN" Young-Jin, Yang "Luffy" Seong-hyeon, Yang "DDing" Jin-hyeok, and Son "CoMa" Gyeung-woo hail from Team KongDoo Panthera, which saw success last year as the runners-up of the Overwatch Contenders Korea after falling short of victory by just one map.

Alongside the former KongDoo Panthera core, Bae “diem” Min-sung and Jo “GuardiaN” Jun-hwan will join the Dragons after having departed from Lucky Future Zenith and Toronto Esports, respectively.

Only three players remain from the Season 1 roster. Lu “Diya” Weida stands as the final remaining member of the team’s original debut crew, joined by tank players Kim “Geguri” Se-yeon and Lee “Fearless” Eui-seok, who both signed with the team in February of last year.

With its new talent, the Shanghai-based team could find more than just its first win in the Overwatch League. The Dragons have much to prove against more established teams in Season 2 but will put their roster to the test when they meet the Hangzhou Spark on Day 1 of the opening week.
