Tickets are now on sale for the huge event that’s set to take place Feb. 22-23 at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. Exhibitors in attendance will be able to help you plan your next big adventure, whether you’re thinking of exploring faraway lands or just having some fun in your home state.
Here’s some information about the annual event to get you started:
Your destination awaits
Part of the fun is strolling through the exhibit hall to see what the world has to offer, which includes experts representing thousands of destinations around the globe.
Even though the space is very large it is easy to navigate, and booths are clustered together according to the regions they represent. For international travel, you’ll find sections devoted to Europe, Asia and the South Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Experts on domestic travel will be located in sections specializing in Colorado, Texas, New Mexico or the U.S. as a whole.
There’ll also be areas just for adventure travel, travel products and a wellness area where you can learn ways to stay healthy while you’re away from home.
Make sure to allow time at the show to attend seminars that might interest you. A diverse range of topics will be discussed, so whether you want to go on safari in Kenya, cruise the Mediterranean or find out about the latest in outdoor gear, there’ll be something for you.
Seminars and presentations take place in three different “theaters,” and some of the presenters will be world-famous travel experts that you know. Among those set to speak are Josh Gates, host of the Discovery Channel show “Expedition Unknown,” Pauline Frommer, the editorial director of Frommer’s Guides, best-selling author Cheryl Strayed (“Wild”) and travel writer and television personality Rick Steves of “Rick Steves’ Europe” and “Travel with Rick Steves.”
Fun, freebies, and discounts
There’s always lots to do when you’re not chatting with a travel expert or listening to a presentation. The Global Beats stage will come alive with world music performances and cultural dance demonstrations. Perhaps while you’re finalizing your plans to tour the Middle East, you’d like to have the experience of riding a camel! There’ll be door prizes and many booths will be offering giveaways, including chances to win a trip. And keep an eye out for special big discounts being offered for purchases made during the show.
The 2020 Denver Travel & Adventure Show will take place in Hall C of the Colorado Convention Center, located at 700 14th St. in downtown Denver. The convention center has ample parking available on-site, including some charging station spots for hybrids and electric vehicles.
