Kacey Musgraves made headlines after winning the 2013 CMA New Artist of the Year award. Before winning this award, she released several albums on her own and eventually joined the Mercury Nashville label. Musgraves also worked with Miranda Lambert and wrote several songs with her. Musgraves has added multiple Grammy Awards, ACM Awards and CMA Awards to her collection. She has continued to bring her own unique style to country music. 5. Kacey Musgraves’ grandmother was her first booking agent

The country music star did not have to look far for a booking agent. Her grandmother was her first agent and helped her launch her career. Musgraves started singing at the age of 8, and her family took her talent seriously. Although her family and grandmother helped her book shows and sell CDs, she did not have to sign a contract. The singer took her grandmother as her date to the 2013 CMA Awards and remembered to thank her for all of her work.

4. She has a hard time avoiding junk food

Junk food is one of Kacey Musgraves’ weaknesses, and she admits to indulging in a variety of treats while on the road. Musgraves requires gummy bears and salt and vinegar chips to be on her bus while she travels. She admits it is difficult to eat healthy on the road, so she often succumbs to her favorite junk food. She likes Jack-In-The-Box egg rolls and pizza, but sweet snacks are also on her list. Musgraves likes coffee ice cream and also enjoys rocky road ice cream. In addition, a big steak and a baked potato are hard for her to resist. However, she is trying to eliminate grains and sugar with a new diet.

The country music star has a three-legged dog, which she calls Pearl, and she considers it her favorite animal. Pearl was hit by a car near Kacey Musgraves’ home and suffered a serious injury to one of her legs. The veterinarian was able to save her life, but she lost one of her legs. The singer shares that Pearl is still able to run fast and does not let the disability stop her. The Jack Russell mix was rescued by Musgraves’ family.

2. She wanted to be a makeup artist

If a career in country music had not worked out for her, Kacey Musgraves has admitted that she would be a makeup artist. The singer loves to do her own makeup and often does the makeup of her family members. She shares that another makeup artist taught her to do her eyes first because the shadow can affect the foundation. She also mentions that she wears ChapStick under nude lipstick to prevent her lips from drying. The country music star enjoys sharing her makeup secrets with others.

Kacey Musgraves has shared that she gets eczema on her arms, and it is not easy to treat. However, her acupuncturist recommended that she try Crisco. Musgraves applied vegetable shortening to her arms and discovered that her eczema went away. She used the treatment for a week to see results, and she admits she enjoys trying home remedies.
