Amy Schumer and more great comedians on tour this August
Comedy Central

August is a great month for stand-up, as several hilarious comedians are taking their shows on the road. Whether you are a fan of unfiltered jokes or political humor, one of these great acts will have you laughing until you cry.

This August, “Real Time” host Bill Maher will be taking his politically-charged, uber-intellegent style of stand-up on the road for a series of shows across the country. As Maher travels, he will surely be observing the local political landscape to see if he can find any future candidates for his popular “Flip a District” campaign. Check him out when he plays the Paramount Theatre in Denver, Colorado on Aug. 8 and Whitney Hall in Louisville, Kentucky on Aug. 16.

Sarah Silverman is one of the smartest and funniest comedians in the world and she is hitting the road this August as a part of Funny or Die's Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival. It was recently announced that Sub Pop will be releasing her next comedy album We Are Miracles in the fall, so expect Silverman to dive into some of the LP's most hilarious routines. Check her out alongside Louis C.K. and Hannibal Buress when the Oddball Comedy Tour stops in New Jersey Aug. 16 and 17.

Jim Norton's eponymous new talk show debuted on last month bringing his brand of raw, unadulterated comedy into the homes of people all over the world. Now, he is returning to the stage for a trio of shows at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco Aug. 7-9, before heading down to Addison, Texas Aug. 21-23.

It's been a busy year for Ron Funches. He has appeared as a guest on a variety of TV shows including “Bob's Burgers,” “Drunk History” and “Kroll Show,” as well as co-starred on the popular NBC sitcom “Undateable” with fellow stand-up comedian Chris D'Elia. This August, he is getting back to what he does best by performing his soft-spoken, big impact jokes on stage with performances in New York, Illinois and California throughout the month.

It seems like Amy Schumer is everyone's favorite comedian these days, thanks to her girlish charm and razor sharp wit. She is joining the fun on the Oddball Comedy Tour with performances in Massachusetts and Virginia earlier this month, before playing some solo dates on Aug. 28-30.
