In 2013, Anathema held their first ever North American headlining tour, which led to several sold out shows in the progress. The following year, they came back to the area as the supporting act for HIM's spring tour before the release of their 2014 album Distant Satellites. When Anathema revealed a massive string of dates for 2017, many fans in North America were wondering if the act would make their return before the year is over. Today, the act dropped a slew of performances this summer, but only one side of the country will be thrilled.
Their North American tour kicks off on August 16 inside Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland, and it will only make its way to the East Coast with performances in New York City, Boston, Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. There's no word if any West Coast appearances will be added. Opening acts for this trek will be revealed in the future. Tickets for their newly announced dates will go on sale this Friday (April 21). You can take a look at their updated tour routing below.
The outfit will be on the road in support of their upcoming studio album The Optimist, which is set to be released on June 9 via Kscope Music. You can pre-order the release here.
