The inaugural Anime NYC arrives to the Javits Center this weekend, and anime fans in the area can't wait to be a part of the first major anime convention in the Big Apple since New York Anime Festival. Over 15,000 people are slated to show up for the three day event, which will feature anime guests such as Hiroki Otsuka, LeSean Thomas, and Cristina Vee. With many things to do while attending, we've come up with a list of the best panels to check out. When Gundam Came to Hollywood
Friday, Nov. 17

4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

With Pacific Rim being a major gateway into the iconic Gundam series, many people didn't know that Hollywood had plans to make their own Gundam film in the '80s. This panel discusses the trials and tribulations for trying to get this flick off the ground.

Anime Diva Night 
Friday, Nov. 17
Main Stage 
8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The first major concert of Anime NYC brings on some of your favorite singers in the anime world. Yoko Ishida (Sailor Moon R), Chihiro Yonekura (Fairy Tail), and TRUE (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) will join forces to deliver some of your favorite anime songs. This event is free for those with Anime NYC badges.

Saturday, Nov. 18
Main Stage
11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

For two full hours, the English voice cast of Sailor Moon will be on hand to talk about their time on the beloved anime. A bevy of surprises and announcements will also take place. For a limited time, people that enter the main stage will gain a special gift for showing up. A fourth season of Sailor Moon Crystal is currently in the works.

Masquerade ULTRA DELUXE Presented by Tokyo Otaku Mode
Saturday, Nov. 18
Main Stage
8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The Anime NYC Masquerade will bring together talented cosplayers from around the world for a night of entertainment. If you're already familiar with the way masquerades are run, the ULTRA DELUXE challenges will throw a wrench in the system. These challenges can include the aggro crag, a game of Mario Kart, or a karaoke contest. Awards will be handed out at the end of the night.

Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower Premiere and Concert
Sunday, Nov. 19
Main Stage
11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower has its U.S. premiere at Anime NYC. The flick, which will be released in Japan on Friday, is a compilation of the second season for Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. This event is free for those with badges. After the screening, the audience will be treated to a live jazz concert conducted by composer Naruyoshi Kikuchi.

Satoshi Kon: The Man, His Method, and Madness
Sunday, Nov. 19

4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Late filmmaker Satoshi Kon left behind a legacy of grand anime films, including Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue, and Paprika. Before his death in 2010, he was working on the film Dreaming Machine, which is still unfinished to this day. Join fans in remembering Kon's remarkable work to close out the convention.
