Wey aye, man, here comes trouble! Make that double trouble, as London's O2 Arena is about to play host to two of the cheekiest chappies on the telly. On the 29th and 30th of August, Ant & Dec's Takeaway On Tour! will be taking over the O2 Arena, with an impressive celebrity line-up to boot. A host of famous faces, including Spice Girl Mel C, Westlife's Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne, Peter Andre, Joey Essex, Alan Shearer, Chris Moyles, Paddy McGuinness, Stephen Mulherne, Eamonn Holmes, Vernon Kay and the mega-lolz-worthy Keith Lemon, are set to appear across various dates on the nationwide tour. It's 'Mysterious Girl' singer Peter Andre who the London crowd will enjoy on Friday 29th August, alongside former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, who will join in the live fun at every tour date. Irish dance troupe Riverdance will also be part of the show each night, plus boy band turned man band Blue will be stepping in as official house band on many of the dates.
Of course, the star acts will always be Geordie duo Ant and Dec as they bring their prime-time TV show to life for fans of the family-friendly format. Celeb guests will act as announcers as well as springing surprises on unsuspecting members of the audience. Because, as anyone who's ever watched Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway will know, audience participation is pretty much expected. So, whether you've bagged front-row tickets or are enjoying the privacy of the back row, no seat's safe if Ant and Dec are around. And that's the fun of it! Of course, if it involves winning a brand-new Suzuki Swift car or a £2,500 all-inclusive holiday in the segment of the show they like to call Win The Ads, the fun factor could shoot up a level. Billed as "the ultimate interactive stage show", Ant and Dec said: "Takeaway is the one show people always tell us they'd love to be in the audience for, so we've decided to take the show to them… We can't wait to hit the road!" You can keep up with the backstage gossip direct from their Twitter @antanddec.
The question on most peoples' lips, though, has to be: will Ant and Dec be "getting ready to rhuuuuumble"? Last year, the boys donned shell suits and baseball caps as their Byker Grove alter-egos, PJ and Duncan, to perform their 1994 hit single to whoops and screams on their Saturday-night show. Complete with all the original dance moves, we might add. So mad for their "Let's Get Ready To Rhumble" revisit were we that the song shot into the iTunes chart at No.1 - impressive considering it only reached No.9 when it was originally released in the charts 20 years ago.
There's even more reason for the boys to celebrate this year, as it marks an impressive 25 years on on the box together, despite them only being 38 years old! And can you believe Ant McPartlin admitted only this week in an interview with The Daily Mirror that school bullies very nearly stopped him from turning up to the Byker Grove auditions? Let's just say, things could have been very different. But lucky for us, they did meet, and they've since virtually taken over our tellies, fronting the likes of Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out If Here! Like salt and vinegar or Chas & Dave, there's no Ant without Dec, and vice versa. It's mainly thanks to the strong bond they developed as kids over "Newcastle United and the latest releases at the Odeon," they recently revealed in the Newcastle Chronicle.
It's safe to say, they've won the nation's hearts, so the stands look set to be packed full of fans when they take their tour on the road. So, catch Ant and Dec at their best in Takeaway On Tour! before they head Stateside - the boys have plans to wow our neighbours across the pond with their Saturday Night Takeaway TV show. And good luck to them! Let's just hope the Geordie accent doesn't get in the way - something Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (Cole) is all too familiar with.
But will they even survive their latest tour? With rumours of bruised and battered limbs as a result of the intense dance and stunt rehearsals they've been putting themselves through, Ant and Dec are giving it their all and risking life and limb in the process. Dec has even turned to shaving his legs. Why, you may well wonder? "I've had to suffer the indignity of shaving my legs so the physic can strap them up," he told The Sun. "It's all the dance routines we've been doing and jumping around." Guys, remember you're not 13 anymore...
