Ariana Grande hits an impressive Hot 100 chart milestone as her latest single ‘thank u, next’ debuts at No. 1, Billboard reports. The track launches atop the ranking dated Nov. 17 and the chart coup also makes Grande the first woman to debut at the top of the chart since Adele did it with “Hello” in 2015.

The empowering breakup anthem is being released as a single, which Grande has teased via Twitter is also the title of her next album. What’s funny is iconic “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamil referenced innocently dropping the phrase, not knowing it was going to be the title of the new album by “one of the most popular artists in showbiz.”

The “No Tears Left to Cry” songstress swooned in reply, tweeting his remarks and captioning her post “I’m gonna tattoo this to my forehead.” See the post below.

Grande surprised fans with her “thank u, next” release and followed it up with a performance on “Ellen” in which she recreated the dance sequence from the 1996 comedy film, “The First Wives Club.” She’s been communicating a lot with fans about the single on Twitter since it dropped on Nov.3. When asked what her favorite lyrics from the song are, she said: “the verse about my parents.”

‘Thank u, next” marks Grande’s 11th Hot 100 Top 10 hit. Her highest-ranking song before “next” was her 2014 Iggy Azalea collab “Problem,” which peaked at No. 2. “Thank u, next” notably bumped Maroon 5 and Cardi B out of their seven-week Hot 100 chart reign with “Girls Like You.” The track is also Grande’s 35th Hot 100 hit overall.

Ariana Grande is touring in 2019 on the Sweetener World Tour, including a stop at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California with opening acts Normani and Social House on May 6 (Tickets).
