Atlanta Gladiators to hold first ever dog race on Dec. 27

The Atlanta Gladiators will have a special dog race during the first intermission of their next home game at the Infinite Energy Arena on Dec. 27 against the Florida Everblades (tickets). Dachshunds or similar small dogs will race against each other with the winner's owner receiving a loaded Gladiators' prize pack.

Every participant will receive a complimentary Gladiators ticket for every dog registered. The dog race is one of three special events going on at the Gladiators game on Dec. 27. There is also a hot dog eating contest and spectators can buy one hot dog and get one hot dog free. There is also a special winter coat drive. Spectators can get a half-priced ticket item with the donation of a winter coat item.

In other Gladiators news, Steve Chapman has been inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame. Chapman was the president of the Gladiators from 2002 to 2017 and is currently the vice-president of brand, community and sponsorship development of the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League.

The Gladiators need all the local support possible at the moment. They have lost their last six games heading into their clash with Jacksonville on Thursday. For Gladiators tickets against the Everblades on Dec. 27, please click here.
