Later this winter, hip-hop duo Atmosphere will be staging at seven-date tour in Colorado. The band will begin the Welcome to Colorado tour with a performance at Denver’s own Ogden Theatre. The pair will not be heading to the Rocky Mountain State alone. They have enlisted rapper/producer two-act Musab & Ink Well Present Mink, alternative hip-hop MC deM atlaS and Twin Cities club superstar DJ Keezy as the tour’s supporting acts. Tickets for the Welcome to Colorado tour will go on sale Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.

Since forming in 1989, Atmosphere has been one of the most important acts in the independent hip-hop movement. Comprised of rapper Slug, born Sean Daley, and producer Ant, a.k.a. Anthony Davis, the group first made an impression on the wider music landscape with the release of their 1997 debut Overcast! The record won widespread acclaim for its unusual soundscapes and unconventional subject matter. In an era when hip-hop was dominated by materialistic MCs, Atmosphere distinguished themselves by focusing on more esoteric and introspective subject matter. Since then, the duo has released seven additional records full of unique sonic textures and uncommonly thoughtful rhymes.
