Bad weather puts a stop to Country Thunder Music Festival

The show couldn't go on for the Country Thunder concert in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin that was set to happen on July 21, 2016. The Boot spread the word that extreme weather that included heavy rain, thunder and lightning put a stop to the show for safety reasons. The four day festival was supposed to kick off on Thursday night but organizers made the tough decision to cancel the opening night because of the weather.

Chris Young was the headlining act for the night that also had Dallas Smith, Chase Bryant, Ryan Hurd and David Ray included in the lineup. Wristbands and parking passes for the cancelled show will be honored at the second night of the festival on July 22, 2016 so fans will be able to see Bryan White, Haley Georgia, The Bellamy Brothers, The Cadillac Three, Parmalee and Florida Georgia Line.

Wisconsin's Country Thunder shows will keep rolling with performances on July 23, 2016 from Casee Allen, Joe Diffee, Granger Smith, Chris Janson and Jake Owen. Eric Church will wrap up the festival as the headliner on July 24, 2016 after Courtney Cole, Terri Clark, A Thousand Horses and Thomas Rhett take the stage on the final day.

Young headed to Facebook to share the bad news about the cancelled show saying “Hey everyone at Country Thunder Music Festivals – bummed the weather stopped us from playing tonight … love you guys!”

Young fans do have another chance to catch him when Country Thunder heads to Canada for three days of shows from Aug. 19, 2016 through Aug. 21 in Alberta. Young will be performing on the first night along with Big & Rich who will be closing out that night. Tim McGraw is hitting the stage on Aug. 20, 2016 and Dustin Lynch will perform on the final night before Luke Bryan wraps up the festival.
