With the holiday season in full swing, many are looking for fun events to take the whole family to.  The Kansas City area has a number of festive activities that are free for everyone.  Here are just a few of them.

Kansas City Plaza Lights
Nov. 24 thru Jan. 15 @ 5 p.m.
Country Club Plaza, 4750 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64112

The first Plaza Lighting Ceremony took place in 1930 and since then, the tradition has grown into a living legend.  While enjoying the lights, shoppers can peruse the detailed window displays and take in the sounds of the season, from the clip-clop of horse drawn carriages to the holiday songs of carolers.

Journey to Judea
Dec. 1 thru Dec. 4 throughout the evening
Countryside Baptist Church, 14150 W 175th Street, Olathe, KS

Journey to Judea is a dramatic, outdoor Christmas event for the entire family.  Visitors can experience the sights and sounds of God's story up close and personal as you walk through the Bible story.  Admission is free but you must reserve your tour times beforehand.

Crown Center Holiday Choirs
Nov. 28 thru Dec. 20 @ various times
Crown Center Shops, 2405 Grand Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64108

Beautiful music fills the halls of Crown Center, as more than 130 area school, church and community choirs perform throughout the holiday season.  The groups perform for free throughout the day.

Tuba Christmas
Dec. 2 and Dec. 12 @ noon
Kauffman Center, 1601 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108

Come out to the Kauffman Center for the annual Tuba Christmas concert.  All area tuba and euphonium players are invited to join in the festivities presented by the Kansas City Symphony. Family, friends and the general public are encouraged to attend the free lunch hour concert to listen to the sounds of the season, tuba-style.

Drive-Thru Living Nativity
Dec. 9 thru Dec. 11 @ 6 p.m.
Lone Jack Baptist Church, 202 S Bynum Rd, Lone Jack, MO 64070

Come take a 20-minute drive through a living nativity scene at Lone Jack Baptist Church.  You will hear and speak with the actors, see many live animals, sip a cup of hot chocolate, and enjoy freshly baked cookies, all for free.
