Our nation’s birthday is right around the corner. For most of us patriotic Americans, this means beer, hot dogs, and of course, dazzling displays of colorful fireworks lighting up the night sky. Throughout Boston especially, there will be plenty of noteworthy celebrations taking place all over the city. Here are 5 of the best fireworks celebrations taking place this Independence Day weekend in Boston,

The 41st annual July 4 spectacular put on by the Boston Pops is heralded as one of the best in the in the entire nation. The entire night consists of family fun, a free concert, and an impressive fireworks show mirrored by the Charles River. Be sure to arrive early if you want to get a good seat; this event attracts nearly 500,000 people.

Nothing goes together better than baseball and the Fourth of July. Enjoy a wonderful day at the ballpark watching the Red Sox take on the Houston Astros and stick around after for a 15-minute firework display following the game.

Don’t want to deal with the crowds that Boston elicits on July 4? Head a few miles Northeast up to Marblehead and enjoy another spectacular show with a fraction of the people. Marblehead Harbor will be lit up starting around 8:30 p.m., with a fireworks show starting around 9:05 p.m. Some of the better viewing spots include Chandler Hovey Park and Crocker Park.

This year will be the 26th installment of the Newton Community July 4 celebration. The festivities begin early in the day and culminate with a grand fireworks display around 9 p.m. There will be crafts, food, music, and amusement park rides that provide fun for the entire family.

The Brockton Fair takes place from July 2-12 in Brockton, Massachusetts. There will be multiple events happening on the 4th including a magic show, a grizzly bear show, wrestling, and of course, fireworks.
