When the Thanksgiving meal is over and Christmas is creeping closer each day, it's time again for days devoting to shopping, and what's better than music-related gifts? San Francisco, with a rich musical history of its own as the home to the famous Haight St. and such greats as the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix, has a little something for every type of music lover this Small Business Saturday. Whether you're wanting to support local businesses or are looking for a brand-new guitar--and whether it's a gift for someone else or you're treating yourself; here are some of the best small businesses to visit:

Amoeba Music
1855 Haight St.
San Francisco, CA 94117
(415) 831-1200

Few record stores develop the reputation of Amoeba, known not just within the Bay Area but outside of it, as well, as the world's largest independent record store. The densely packed record shop has a distinctive look as it was a former bowling alley. The store also boasts some famous clientele, who share their own finds in the What's in My Bag? series. In addition to records and CDs, snag merchandise, plus turntables and other record-related products. Amoeba also hosts in-store performances, along with free downloads of tracks from the show. In addition to Small Business, Saturday, the store will also be participating in the Black Friday Record Store Day, with additional locations in Berkeley and Hollywood.

101 Music
513 Green St.
San Francisco, CA 94133
(415) 392-6369

The only thing better than a record store? A one-stop shop for both records and instruments, as well as gear and other audio equipment and a staff passionate about music. 101 may be small, but you'll still love what they have to offer--especially their selection of $5 records.

Groove Merchant
687 Haight St.
San Francisco, CA 94117
(415) 252-5766

With a name like Groove Merchant and an owner named Cool Chris, you can't go wrong. And the name of the Haight St. store is especially fitting considering the curated selection of such genres as soul, hip-hop, funk, jazz, and more.

1055 Valencia St.
San Francisco, CA 94110
(415) 647-2272

Aquarius Records, the area's oldest and perhaps most carefully curated record store, has re-branded as Stranded. Check out what's coming soon, browse their new arrivals, or take a look at their extensive recommendations. The store also operates their own label, as well as a second location in Oakland.

1-2-3-4 Go! Records
1038 Valencia St.
San Francisco, CA 94110
(415) 550-7865

Music fans will love the selection of records at 1-2-3-4 Go!, from new releases to classic originals. When it comes to buying used records, they pride themselves on paying more than other local stores, and they support the current local scene with consignment deals for local musicians in addition to also being a record label themselves. 1-2-3-4 Go! will also be participating in the Black Friday edition of Record Store Day.
