The 2019 Billboard Music Awards are set to air live on NBC on May 1 at its new home for a second year. The ceremony and concert event held in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena will be hosted by superstar Kelly Clarkson for a second year as well as she has a multi-million deal with NBC. Clarkson's first time as a host on any show was a success and she was invited to host another year.
"I had so much fun hosting the ‘Billboard Music Awards’ last year that I’m back for more. We’re turning it up a notch this year and I can’t wait to celebrate all of my fellow amazing artists for another unforgettable night of live music," Clarkson said in a post on social media.
Clarkson who is set to debut her own NBC daytime TV show in September, "The Kelly Clarkson Show," serves as an executive producer for the BBMAs alongside Mark Bracco, Barry Adelman and Robert Deaton.
Tickets for the event are on sale March 28 at 10:00 a.m. local time. A pre-sale is already underway via AXS.com. More information including pricing and availability can be found by clicking here for event details.
Kelly Clarkson has a busy 2019 ahead of her. She is currently on tour in support of her seventh non-holiday album Meaning of Life where she goes live on Facebook during a segment at each show to perform a cover and sometimes chat with a guest. The "Minute + a Glass of Wine" webisode found a place on tour to not only reach fans that she can't yet visit but to also "pregame" for her upcoming TV show. Clarkson is also a coach for a third season of "The Voice" currently in the pre-taped "battle rounds" at the time of publication.
Additionally, Clarkson is gearing up to support her first lead role in an animation film, "UglyDolls," which hits theaters on May 3. On March 27, she released the lead single "Broken & Beautiful" from the soundtrack and can be heard below.
