Band Blues Traveler has announced that they'll be treating fans to both a new album and tour this fall.
Hurry Up & Hang Around, the band's 13th studio album, will be released Oct. 12. It is available for pre-order now.
"We were going through some changes as far as our infrastructure goes," frontman John Popper said in a statement. "We parted ways with two different managers. No preparations had really been made, and it seemed like it might be too late to make new music. Between taking meetings, we were by ourselves writing in the garage every day of this Nashville house. That was pretty cool, because we felt like a garage band again. There was a spirit of survival. We had something to celebrate, so we really came together as a band."
A tour in support of the album will kick off the same day and is set to run through November. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 29, with select shows available right here on AXS, including November stops in San Francisco, Seattle and Portland. Pre-sales begin Wednesday, June 27, and prices start at $29.50. AXS Premium seating and album bundles will also be available.
Blues Traveler will also play their annual 4th of July show at Red Rocks next week, with tickets on sale now right here on AXS. G. Love & Special Sauce, The Wailers and The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts are also scheduled to appear. The first single from Hurry Up & Hang Around, "Accelerated Nation," is expected days later on Friday, July 6.
